Pigs & Planets is back!
Back by popular demand, our fantastic Pigs & Planets event returns for another special evening bringing together two local charities.
Start your visit by meeting the animals, with the chance to feed and pet them over the fences. Then, as the evening continues, join UK Astronomy for an introductory talk exploring the planets, and learning fun facts about our solar system.

Weather permitting, the talk will be followed by outdoor observing through telescopes, guided by experienced UK Astronomy volunteers. You’ll learn how to navigate the night sky and, as darkness falls, enjoy the chance to observe planets, stars and constellations.

If cloud cover prevents stargazing, the evening will continue with a second astronomy talk, ensuring a full and engaging experience whatever the weather.

No previous knowledge is needed, and questions are encouraged throughout the evening.

UK Astronomy will provide observing equipment, but you are welcome to bring your own binoculars or telescope. Please note that, due to limited time, volunteers will be unable to assist with setup or provide individual support for personal equipment.

Parking is available on site, and the café will be open serving hot drinks, snacks and souvenirs.

Join us for a memorable evening of animals, astronomy and community spirit, while supporting two fantastic local charities.

• Dress Comfortably: Wrap up warm and wear appropriate footwear for a winter's evening outdoors at a animal sanctuary.
• Suitable for: This event is perfect for families, as we welcome young and old alike. Discover together, learn together, and create lasting memories under the stars.
